August Bee City Meeting

Following our pattern for the past two meetings, we will gather outside! Bring a chair and come to the square. We will review our progress on a couple of projects, entertain discussion of and new ideas stemming from our past two meetings (on pollinator gardens and bats), and move on to a presentation by another guest speaker.

February Meeting

Our February meeting will once again be virtual, via Zoom. We have much to discuss and many plans to make. Plantings, surveys, garden tending, and pollinator encouragement are all on our to-do list. So please join us if you can.

Perhaps by Spring we will be able to meet in person, out in the open air.

November Bee City Meeting

Our November meeting will be unusual - and quite special - in several ways.

  • First, it will be a joint meeting among the Carlinville Bee City, Tree City, Blackburn Bee Campus and Tree Campus, Macoupin County Master Gardeners groups and the Blackburn College Bee Program.

  • Second, it will be a virtual meeting, conducted by Kathy Ruiter under Blackburn auspices.

  • Third, it will provide information on the activities, accomplishments and plans of all those groups.

  • Fourth, it is open and welcoming to the public.

Thanks to Kathy for all her work in setting up this very special event.

For full information, please check out our flyer.

October Bee City Meeting

We plan to meet at Carlinville City Hall, practicing social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Topics for this meeting will include exploration of some of the ideas put forward at our September meeting, including a joint Zoom meeting of our City and College Tree and Bee groups (a unique opportunity!), Carlinville Park District, and the public. It would be hosted by the college and organized by Kathy Ruiter.

Also included: the opportunity to participate in the fun-filled activity of helping write our annual renewal report. Cindy Maguire and Mary Beasley are the point people for this.

Fundraising ideas, pollinator garden projects, calls for volunteer workers, and educational insights are also welcome, as are potential new members. See you there!
